Taking social responsibility
together
The German Initiative on Sustainable Cocoa [Forum Nachhaltiger Kakao e. V.] was formed under the auspices of the German government, represented by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL), together with the German confectionery industry, the German food trade and civil society. They jointly pursue the goal of improving the living conditions of cacao farmers and their families and boosting the cultivation and marketing of cacao certified according to sustainability standards.
What sustainability in the cacao sector means to us:
Cacao is one of our main raw materials. It is therefore of great importance to us to secure the availability of high-quality cacao beans in the long term, which we want to achieve by improving the living and cultivation conditions in the cacao growing regions.
Why we are a member of the German Initiative on Sustainable Cocoa:
For us as a medium-sized company, it is difficult to change the living and growing conditions in the cacao origin countries.
Joining forces in the German Initiative on Sustainable cacao means initiatives can be developed and realised together to promote sustainable cacao farming.
